Punxsutawney Brewing Company unknowingly began in 2010 with Carl Martin, a long time Punxsutawney resident, receiving a home brew kit as a gift. In 2013, he met Nathan Croyle, also a homebrewer, and they quickly discovered they had a common interest.

In 2015, the duo registered the name Punxsutawney Brewing Company with the intent to open a brewery in the future. In the meantime, they participated in a local homebrew club, hosting several beer and Italian food pairings at Punxsy Pizza. In 2021, Austin Wolfe joined the Brew Crew, and discussions about the brewery reignited.

On September 7, 2023, Punxsutawney Brewing Company was officially licensed and the taps began flowing soon after. PBC is a distribution-only brewing company, selling kegs and cans to local establishments, and appearing at events around the area.

Punxsutawney Brewing Company was built on a simple idea: make great beer and share it with our community.
We don’t have a taproom, and that’s by design. We’re a six-person crew, all with full-time careers, who chose to focus on brewing small batches. That means we get to do what we love most: create thoughtful, well-refined beer and bring it to you.
Our story started over 15 years ago as homebrewers, perfecting recipes batch by batch and sharing them with friends and family. After years of encouragement, we purchased the name Punxsutawney Brewing Company in 2015, and in 2023 brought the vision to life as a distribution-only brewery.
We brew small on purpose. It allows us to make a wide range of styles, keep things fresh, and ensure every beer is made with precision. Many of our recipes are personal - inspired by people close to us and refined over time. When a batch sells out, it’s gone until the next round. We don’t keep a constant supply, and that’s part of what makes it special.
With PBC, you bring the taproom anywhere you go.

How big is your system?
We brew on a 1-barrel system, which allows for a wide variety of beer styles.
We fill, seal, and label every can by hand, one at a time, right in Punxsutawney.
We do not keep a large backstock of beer - everything we make is fresh!
